I have decided to start a blog about the historical and accurate recreation of Civil War reenactments. I believe that there are many people interested not only in the history of the American Civil War, but for those who choose to portray a soldier who has experienced the genuine 19th century soldier. This is a chance for people to come together and write about their love and experiences reenacting on the field. This is a chance for people who do not reenact to ask questions and make comments of their experiences watching a battle portraying the Civil War.
The American Civil War was a pivotal moment in our grand history. It was the culmination of the turmoil that the government and citizens brought on and generated the start of this deadly war. The war lasted for over four years and took the lives of more American soldiers than all the other wars the United States had endured. By the end, the country was changed forever, even by its definition. Before the war the United States ‘are’, to the United States ‘is’.
